Pride Month 2022 shoe collections | Coach, Converse, Uggs, Vans, more
June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and the recognition is becoming more mainstream as manufacturers and retailers launch collections to support LGBTQIA+ love and community.
With so many Pride collections available, we’re focusing below on one category in which manufacturers are making bold statements – casual footwear. We’ve listed retailers and 10 brand sites where you can find casual Pride shoes, starting at $20. Scroll through below to see footwear you can buy now and show Pride throughout the year.
Many retailers have adopted slogans to help celebrate love in all of its forms. Adidas’ 2022 campaign says, “For this year’s Pride, our goal is to bring visibility Clarks Shoes to the many voices of the LGBTQIA+ community, honoring those who continue to push society forward.” Meanwhile, Sperry proclaims, “Our journeys are not the same. But the celebration of self-love and self-expression are.”
Other brands are just as bold and heartwarming when it comes to developing their Pride merchandise.
Started in the wake of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, officially recognized by President Bill Clinton in 1999 and formalized by President Barack Obama in 2009, Pride Month is an endorsement of diversity. The most common acknowledgement and support icon is the inclusive rainbow, something you’ll find on attire across the spectrum.
To celebrate Pride month, UGG is supporting The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning young people. And they’re offering a playful variety of footwear and clothing.
This colorful, cozy slide slipper Fluff Yeah ($110) is made of faux shearling, signature sheepskin and UGG’s upcycled wool blend. It has an outdoor-ready outsole.
